just exploring
Washington D.C.
My first domestic travel post!
Nice, France
What better place to go to for my last trip of the semester than the south of France? My friend Noa and I flew to Nice to relax and unwind after we finished our final exams.
London, again!
I clearly love London… This was my third time back this semester, and it was just as amazing as the first two times. I rode the Eurostar train to get there and because of how busy it was, the only availability was in first class! Oh la la!
Kiev, Ukraine
Kiev? Who thinks of going to Kiev? Where even is Kiev? Well, I think of going to Kiev, and it’s the capitol of Ukraine! I was really interested in seeing a lot of eastern Europe and this was about as far east as I could get.
Back to London!
I just thought London was so great I decided to go back! It was a quick trip but filled with a lot of fun activities!
Wrocław, Poland
I couldn’t stay away from Poland! I decided to go back to Wroclaw, and if you can pronounce that correctly then you’re already ahead of me. After my flight landed, I went straight to the hostel. Side note, that hostel had the nicest bathrooms I have ever seen in a hostel. It was amazing. I went to check out the town center and eat lunch at a traditional Polish milk bar!
Barcelona, Spain
After living in the arctic since January, I decided it was time to go someplace warm! Spain has always been on the top of my list, so why not go there?
Paris, France
Last weekend, my family came to Paris to visit me! It had been a couple years since I had been to Paris, so it was nice to go back and see it again. I managed to use the metro with my giant suitcase to get to our hotel on Rue Cler. I went to a cafe down the street to get a nutella crepe and wait for everyone to arrive!
Vienna, Austria
My time in Vienna was very short, and there was a lot of stuff I wanted to see but didn’t. Oh well, I guess that means I’ll just have to go back!
Budapest, Hungary
I have always dreamed of taking an overnight train to get somewhere, so when I saw the option of an overnight train to Budapest I hopped right on. My friends and I selected a six person sleeper car. Going into this train ride I had imagined the sleeper car like the ones in Murder on the Orient Express, spacious and comfortable. Well my image of that was quickly replaced with the less luxurious reality of fold down beds stacked three high in a tiny room.
Switzerland
I was off of school this past week for spring break so my friend Shireen and I went to five cities in Switzerland! It was a great week filled with more food (especially cheese) than I want to even think about. I had so much fun and I’m sad to be back in Metz where the air is dirty and the people are less nice. 😦
Krakow, Poland
My trip to Krakow was my first time to Eastern Europe, and I loved it! Everything was so cheap, the food was great, and the people were fun. I flew to Krakow from Paris CDG and took a bus to city center where my hostel was right down the street.
Milan, Italy
This past Friday, my friends and I took a whirlwind trip to Milan, Italy. We left Metz and headed to the airport in Luxembourg to catch a 9 AM flight to Milan. A one hour flight and another one hour bus ride later, we finally made it to the city.
London, United Kingdom
London, wow! I loved everything about this city. The people, the food, the vibe, the nightlife, and everything is so vibrant and fun.
Metz, France: Part I
I studied abroad at Georgia Tech Lorraine in Metz, France. Learn more about the city I spent four months in!
Trier, Germany
Today was my first trip out of France for the semester! My INTA 2221 class took a field trip to Trier, Germany’s oldest city.
