Ugh, this book was so dry and hard to get through. Not for the light reader! This doesn’t mean it wasn’t absolutely fantastic when you put it all together.

This novel might honestly be one of my favorite books ever. It was so beautifully written. It’s a story about a lonely girl’s coming-of-age in the marshes of North Carolina.

A classic! I feel like everyone read this in high school… except me. I really loved this book. I was so intrigued by the dystopia described in 1984 because it’s all too relevant today.

If you like the movie Up, you will love this book! It’s the story of a lonely curmudgeon, Ove, in Sweden who screams at his neighbors for parking in the wrong space and punches a hospital clown whose magic tricks annoy him.

Wow. While this book is hard to read, it’s also hard to put down. This novel follows a young girl names Julia, known as Turtle for most of the book, who is subject to horrific abuse at the hands of her father, who is charismatic sociopath and survivalist father.

What a wild story… It’s a super short read but so much is packed in to ninety-something pages. The book is set in a future in which animals are much cleverer than humans, and the animals use their cleverness to start a revolution against them.
