Beer Bread
After my mom and Tim asked me to stop baking sugary things, I decided to try a bread! Except, I can’t find yeast in the stores here. I had to get creative and look up alternatives to yeast. I found a recipe for beer bread and knew that I had quite a few leftover Natural Light beers! It was perfect.
The bread actually came out really good! I was skeptical because Natural Light is not known for it’s extraordinary taste. The bread came out moist and a little sweet.
It’s great to have with butter during dinner or with butter and cinnamon sugar for breakfast!
Here’s the recipe
Ingredients
3 cups self rising flour
1/2 cup sugar
12 ounces beer
2 tablespoons of melted butter
If you don’t have self rising flour, here’s how you can make some:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Just whisk these ingredients together and there you have it! 1 cup of self rising flour.
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375 F. Butter a loaf pan and set aside.
Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and beer. Mix well.
Step 2
Pour into loaf pan and bake for 55 minutes. At the last 3 minutes of baking, remove from oven, brush the top of the loaf with butter and return to oven.
Ta-da! This bread was super easy and low ingredient.
10/10 recommend!
